Who we are

We are two passionate food lovers who have discovered over time that a plant-based diet was what suited us and the environment best. We understand that putting delicious plant-based options on menus at home and in restaurants can be challenging and hence our passion to create Plantier.

Our inspiration

We are Vivienne and Poornima, the founders of Plantier. For many years, we have adopted a plant-based lifestyle due to both personal choice and food intolerances. Seeing the huge difference this lifestyle choice has made in our lives, and the positive impact it can have on the environment, we created Plantier. After many plates of just vegetables and leaving restaurants feeling desperately hungry, we decided we wanted to work with restaurants and individuals to inspire them to create mouth-watering and satisfying plant-based meals. Our hope is that everyone will put more plant-based meals on their menus at home and in restaurants, while also contributing towards the sustainability of our planet.

The United Nations Sustainability Development Goals for 2030 have been pivotal in driving Plantier’s vision and mission. The global food system contributes towards 20-30% of greenhouse gas emissions with animal agriculture being the second largest contributor to human-made greenhouse gases. The desire to address this in the Nordic region resulted in the creation of the Nordic Solutions Menu - 24 policies that aim to change food consumption and intends to inspire new and robust policy responses to the societal and environmental challenges caused by our current food system. The global and Nordic trends towards making plant-based meal choices more often has supported Plantier’s vision and mission to ensure that restaurants have a variety of plant-based options to delight their customers.

AUTHENTIC

Through both choice and necessity our food is plant-based. We have been cooking and eating this way nearly all our lives and know how delicious and satisfying these meals are.

QUALITY

Coming from professional and academic backgrounds, our work is based in research. We are both graduates of the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate Program from CNS and Vivienne is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through IIN.

We are not here to preach! We are foodies and we believe that regardless of your food preferences, every meal on the menu should be creative, delicious and full of flavour and texture.
